april 2016, beijing
so, at last i have restarted blogging. it feels good to be sharing again. hope i retain some momentum. so yes, i will stay in china for a while and mostly with art… from 798.
798 is definitely my favorite place in china. wherever i go, i head to somewhere with art. whenever i go to beijing, it has to be 798/the dashanzi district.
this occasion was a short but interesting trip. didn’t really get to spend as much time as i wanted but nevertheless… let us go.
this has got to be one of the most visually interesting exhibition i have seen. unfortunately, with the reflecting glass, i am not doing justice.
hopefully this caption will help shed some light
not sure these were from the same artists but…
no, this was not on show (below). china are definitely a selfie nation. no opportunity goes abegging. i took this because i love the composition.
798 is open every day. it is really too much to describe but outside of art, there are some really nice restaurants. would i live in beijing w/o 798 hm, probably not. but with it, its definitely worth thinking about.
while in beijing i visited a wine shop owned and operated by connoisseur Zora (Wu Zhimin), a former student of the school… alas it was before my time. but the place is gorgeous and the wines are excellent. if you are a lover of fine wines, and ever in the beijing-sanlitun area, be sure to look up this very well-stocked wine lovers haven.
Wu Zhimin (Zora)
the shop ’1855′, is in the soho mall in sanlitun.
more on this another time. don’t want to wear you out.
